For Florida Residents — Current & Former

Florida paperwork follows you: to a new state, a new country, a new chapter. Whatever document you're holding, one of three doors below gets it apostilled — and every one of them works without a trip to Tallahassee.

Floridians

Door 1: You need a document signed and apostilled

Powers of attorney, affidavits, single-status affidavits, travel consents, business documents — anything you sign. This is our core service: a live video session with our Florida-commissioned notary from anywhere in Florida (or anywhere you've moved to), then the Florida Secretary of State apostille and tracked delivery. $299 all-inclusive with US delivery, $499 worldwide.

Door 2: You need Florida vital records apostilled

Birth, marriage, death, and divorce certificates issued by Florida follow the record channel — the certificate is obtained or verified through the issuing office and apostilled from there. That's the specialty of our sister service, My Florida Apostille: they handle the record, the state filing, and delivery, and you never mail anything. Former residents use it constantly — your Florida birth certificate doesn't care that you live in Oregon or Portugal now.

Door 3: Your document is already notarized by a Florida notary

The Department of State can apostille any genuine Florida notarization — but here's the honest caveat: documents notarized elsewhere are the single biggest source of rejected filings, usually over a defective notarial certificate (a missing commission expiration, wrong wording for an online notarization). Two good paths: send it through My Florida Apostille, which files existing Florida notarizations — or, if the document can simply be re-signed, a fresh online notarization with us removes the rejection risk entirely and is often faster end to end.

Moved away — or moved abroad?

Everything above is remote by design. Former Floridians in other states use the same online sessions and the same Florida filing; Floridians abroad can often notarize from overseas when the document has a US connection. Tell us where you are in the request form and we'll confirm before you pay anything.

How This Works

Why a Florida apostille works when you’re in another state — or another country

Because an apostille certifies the notary, not the signer. Your notarization is performed online by a Florida-commissioned notary, so the notarial act is governed by Florida law (Chapter 117, Part II) no matter where you’re sitting. That makes your document a Florida document — and the Florida Secretary of State is the competent authority to apostille it.

Under the Hague Convention, every US apostille carries exactly the same legal power — a Florida apostille is worth precisely as much as one from California, Texas, or New York. The embassy or registry receiving your document only checks that the apostille is genuine; it doesn’t care which state issued it. The result: you skip your own state’s apostille office entirely — no lines, no mailing originals, no taking time off work.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you apostille a document notarized by a different Florida notary?

The state can, and My Florida Apostille files those. We notarize fresh and apostille what we notarize — which is also the way to eliminate rejection risk if the document can be re-signed.

I was born in Florida but live elsewhere now — how do I apostille my birth certificate?

Through the record channel: My Florida Apostille obtains or verifies the certificate through the issuing office and handles the apostille and delivery. You never need to set foot in Florida.

Do I need to be in Florida for your online notarization?

No — any US state works, and often abroad too. The notary's Florida commission is what makes it a Florida document, wherever you sign from.

Do I need to mail you anything?

No. You upload your document and sign in a live online session. We handle the printing, certification, and Florida Department of State filing on our end — the only physical shipment is the finished apostilled package delivered to you.

What exactly do I receive at the end?

A tracked package containing your notarized document with the official Florida apostille certificate attached by the Department of State — security paper, gold embossed seal, unique verification number — plus the digitally sealed PDF from your session for your records.

Is online notarization legal?

Yes. Remote online notarization is authorized by Florida Statutes Chapter 117, Part II, is recognized across the US, and the Florida Department of State accepts remotely notarized documents for apostille.

Can you ship the finished package abroad?

Yes — the worldwide delivery option sends the apostilled package by express international courier directly to any Hague Convention country, fully tracked, typically arriving in 2–5 business days after the apostille is issued.

How long does the whole process take?

Typically 7–10 business days door to door: your notary session within about a day of confirming, roughly five business days of Florida Department of State processing, then tracked delivery.
